Healthy Leadership
Everything starts with health
This year has been challenging for us all in terms of our physical health and overall well-being. The insecurity caused by the global pandemic has left us with only one choice: now, more than ever, it is vital that we start thinking about our organizations as not just businesses, but as promotors and guardians of the health and well-being of our people. Promoting a healthy, inclusive and safe environment for our teams is much more than a responsibility. It will be essential for our businesses to survive in this uncertain future.
To be effective in the midst of a traumatic situation, and to help team members cope with diverse challenges, we need to start taking the steps that will prepare us for what is ahead. Because what we learnt in the past, may no longer be relevant in the future.
The role of leadership
This new perspective means that the traditional role of the leader needs to change. It is no longer enough to ‘lead’. It is also time to ‘listen’. Successful leadership needs to integrate innovation and agility with an emotional intelligence dedicated to increasing well-being in our teams.
Today, empathy is a leadership characteristic that is indispensable. As we transition from a real to a virtual space, a new set of challenges arise: the work-life balance, feelings of isolation, and, most importantly, the need to drive teams, reinvent business models and create happy workplaces in the new digital environment.
At TeamEQ, our goal is to discover the ways that leaders can engage and inspire across the virtual space, while also gaining the capacity to listen better, and in real time, to the situation of their teams. Technology as a tool for empathy.
The Women Evolution Summit – talent, health and emotional well-being
This year’s Women Evolution Summit , of which TeamEQ will be a partner, will be dedicated to addressing the importance of healthy leadership and asking questions like: how can we put emotional intelligence at the center of our decision making? And, how can we help to create an environment where our teams’ health and well-being, as well as their talent, become the most valuable assets our businesses can have? The event is a great opportunity to share experiences, network and listen to the opinions of thought leaders about the issues that we all face today.
